The major differences between Relational and Non Relational databases.
In a nutshell, SQL databases are great to represent relations between data and maintaining strict consistent schemas. Data is usually retrieved through queries written in SQL.
NoSQL databases on the other hand have way more flexibility with their schemas and APIs. NoSQL databases can vary significantly from each other. They're usually preferred for low latency, high availability apps that favor those non-functional requirements over strong consistency.
